Edita Baranauskienė (born on June 28, 1941) – is a teacher, a writer, and a public actor. She is the laureate of the 2006 Ieva Simonaitytė prize. In 1999, she published the book Vyžeikių karalienė (Queen of Vyzheikiai). Her work in German about the Klaipėda region, its place-names and people Nemuno žemės smiltys (Sands of the Nemunas land) attracted special attention. In 2006, Priekulės istorija (Priekulė’s history) debuted.

After graduating from Saugai (Conservation) school, she has worked as a teacher in Priekulė all her life. She is an active conservator of ethno-culture.
