Giulio Leoni

« Back

Giulio Leoni is one of the most successful contemporary Italian writers, creating historical detective novels. Born and still living in Roma, G. Leoni received literary education, and in 1984, he directed the “Symbola” revue, dedicated to the analysis of poetry and contemporary esthetics. The writer is a member of American Society of Magicians and the Italian Club of Magicians (Club Magico Italiano). At first he started to write poetry that was published both in Italy and the USA and later, he became a novelist and wrote his first novel, “Dante Alighieri i delitti della Medusa”, (2000) that won the “Tadeschi” prize.

Other works featuring the main actor Dante Alighieri, came to light only after a few years’ break: I delitti del Mosaico (The Mosaic crimes, 2004), and I delitti della Luce (The Light crimes, 2005). The Italian writer also wrote: “La donna sulla luna” (2002) and “E trentuno con la morte” (2003).

Gulio Leoni is distinguished for his passionate interest in the unusual and strange: alchemy, exorcism, the esoteric, astronomy, palmistry and also the literature of the 13th century and the vanguard of 20th century.

As a specialist of Renaissance philosophy and an expert of magic and illusionism, Gulio Leoni knows better than anyone else how to research the dark areas hiding under the facts.

In 2006, the publishing house “Versus aureus“ published a novel by Gulio Leoni that reached great popularity in Lithuania, Mozaikos nusikaltimai (The Mosaic crimes) and in 2007 – Šviesos nusikaltimai (The Light crimes).

In 2006, Giulio Leoni participated in the Vilnius Book Fair.
