Jorge Molist
Jorge Molist (Chorche Moli) was born in 1951, in Barcelona. Due to his profession, he spent more than a year in the USA, and worked around in European countries. Being a direct witness to many recent events, he is passionately interested in history. He analyses and interweaves the many novel events – from the standpoint of contemporary man – into his works.
The first J. Molist novel, Katarų sugrįžimas (The Return of Catharis), immerses the reader into the epic of Catharis (one of the Christian movements, wrongly considered to be a religious sect). In the novel, Pranašintas ženklas (The Omen), the writer tells about the Spanish missions in North America. According to the critics, his sharp, alluring prose together with its humorous overtones has made J. Molist one of the most outstanding creators of contemporary adventure literature.
J. Molist is an industrial engineer by specialty, and later earned a Master’s degree in corporate administration. Currently he lives in Madrid and heads an enterprise. He was awarded the Alfonso X “El Sabio” Prize for Novels of History for his work Žiedas. Paskutinio tamplieriaus palikimas (The Ring. Legacy of the Last Templar).
For over five months, it was the top selling book in Lithuania and became a bestseller.
