Lauras Bielinis
Political Scientist and Doctor of social sciences’ Lauras Bielinis was born on June 30, 1957.
In 1981, he earned a Master’s degree in Philosophy from Moscow National University. In 1995, he defended his Doctoral thesis in social sciences at the Institute of International Relations and Political Sciences (IIRPS) at Vilnius University. From 1995, he works in the IIRPS at Vilnius University and is a board member at the IIRPS. In 2003, he became the director of the Belorussian Institute. He is Editor-in-Chief of the magazine Politologija (Political Science). L. Bielinis is a member of Lithuanian Political Science Association.
His research interests: political communication, election technologies and political behaviour.
In 2003, the publishing house “Versus aureus” published the study of Dr. L. Bielinis, Prezidento rinkimų anatomija: 2002 metų prezidento rinkimai Lietuvoje (Anatomy of presidential elections: The Lithuanian Presidential elections). The book analyses the 2002 Lithuanian Presidential elections’ highlights.
