Famous Swedish writer, dramatist and poet Per Olov Enquist was born in 1934, in Hjoggbole, in northern Sweden.

P. O. Enqiost studied at Uppsala University where he defended his thesis for a Master’s degree on the theme of Thorsten Johnsson crime novels.

The works of Enquist have been published in 26 countries. The author is fond of invoking historic personalities and events. In the novel “Legionnaires” (1968), the author describes the life of Swedish refugees after World War II. In another book, “The Night of the Tribades” (1975), he tells about the private life of dramatist August Strinberg. In 2001, the novel “The Royal Physician’s Visit” won the main Swedish literary prize.

In 2003, P. O. Enquist published the non-fictitious story about four brave and intelligent children, Trijų urvų kalnas (The Mountain of the Three Caves). – his first children’s book. The publishing house “Versus aureus” published the book in 2005.
