Rima Tarbūnienė
Teacher and expert of the English language Rima Tarbūnienė was born on April 16, 1959, in Radviliškis.
In 1981, she earned an English language teacher’s degree from the Vilnius National Pedagogical Institute and since then, has been working as an English language teacher at Radviliškis Lizdeika gymnasium. In 2005, she was granted a teacher-expert qualification for the English language. Since 1996, she has participated in activities of the International Education and Resource Network (I*EARN). Since 1999, she has been the vice-coordinator of the Lithuanian Centre of I*EARN. R. Tarbūnienė also has experience in international cooperation: she annually participates in international conferences of I*EARN where she presents papers on telecommunication projects – Demokratija mokykloje (Democracy at school, USA, 1998), Projektinė veikla Lietuvoje (Activity design in Lithuania, Prague, the Czech Republic, 1999) and Mokymasis per tarptautinį bendradarbiavimą, (Learning through international cooperation, Kobe, Japan).
Rima Tarbūnienė is the co-author of the British culture educational book, Kaleidoskopas (Kaleidoscope). In 2001, R. Tarbūnienė, together with a colleague, published the schoolbook, Telekomunikacijų ir projektinio darbo organizavimo metodas, (The method of the organization of telecommunication and designed work) recommended for Lithuanian comprehensive schools.
In 2002, R. Tarbūnienė worked on probation in the USA where she acquainted herself with the American educational system. In 2005, the publishing house “Versus aureus” published an English language student’s book for 9-12 grades, Lessons on American Democracy, prepared by R. Tarbūnienė and Daina Valančienė
