Vida Pukienė
Doctor of humanitarian sciences Vida Pukienė was born on December 19, 1953, in Anykščiai.
In 1976, she graduated from the History faculty at the Vilnius Pedagogical Institute, with a teacher’s degree in history and social sciences. In 1991, she became a senior assistant at Vilnius Pedagogical University, and since 1998 – a docent. In 1998, she became an expert-teacher at an Antakalnis secondary school (in Vilnius). V. Pukienė is a member of the teacher’s certification commission at the Vilnius Qualification Institute of Pedagogy. Currently, she is working in the General History department in the History faculty at Vilnius Pedagogical University.
Scholarly interests – the problems of Lithuanian education in 1918-1940; the problems of European Union history; the 20th century questions of history for 10-12 grades and the role and place of individuality in Lithuanian cultural and political life (on a model of prelate K. Olšauskas).
In 2004, the publishing house “Versus aureus” published the textbook of A. Pukienė, XX a. Europos istorija (The history of the 20th century Europe).
