Historian Violeta Kriščiūnienė was born on May 13, 1960, in Kelmė region.

In 1978, she graduated from Kelmė secondary school No.1. In 1983, she graduated from the History faculty at Vilnius University. Since 1983, she has been working as a history teacher at the Vilnius Antakalnis secondary school. In 1993, in a priority order, she qualified as history teacher-supervisor and later – education consultant. Since 1997, she has been a member of the methodology board of Vilnius history teachers. Since June 2000, she has been the chairperson of the Methodology board of the Vilnius Antakalnis secondary school. Since 2001, annually, on the invitation of National Centre of Exams, she has been an assessor of history state exams of secondary education.

In 2004, the publishing house “Versus aureus” published the learning resource, prepared by K. Kriščiūnienė, Asmenybės ir datos (Personalities and dates).
