„Word, do not fall on a stone“ 

It is a historical novel by Edita Baranauskienė – the laureate of the 2006 Ieva Simonaityte Prize – about Martynas Mažvydas. According to the writer: “So far, nobody knows when Mažvydas was born and where he came into this world – it can only be presumed. Nobody painted a portrait of Mažvydas and we do not know the features of his face or the colour of his eyes, but we can see those mountains and ravines, those springs and streams, which once saw the eyes of Mažvydas. We can walk those roads and paths, which led a child of poor parents to studies, and later to the wide world. Mažvydas left us a lot.”
