The monograph Lithuanian Medieval Archaeology, in accordance with the archaeological monuments of that time and their research material, analyses the period since the 13th century to the middle of 16th century, i.e. the times of the foundation and prosperity of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. This period is analyzed by scientists of various areas: historians, art critics and others. However, there are precious few sourcebooks that is more iconographic when describing 13th – 15th century Lithuania. Archeological researchers say this is one of the main sources when analyzing the development of castles, towns and cult buildings. Material analyzed in the work is grouped and discussed in separate themes: concepts and terminology, the research of mounds and stone castles, old towns and their development, pagan and catholic cult buildings, and mortuary monuments. Separately, wooden building, arms, ceramics, tiles, ironworks, and adornments are also presented.
