All research testifies that for the majority of Lithuanian citizens, the most acceptable state model would be Scandinavian. Meanwhile in Lithuania, the combination of Russian and American forms of government is being installed. Both of them are distant to Europeans, although we constantly shout: we are Europeans…all the tragedy of our life consists of this. New political power is not seen in political life. New parties sprout up, but it’s their demagogy that only gets louder. Though in the press some rational suggestions on how to get out of this moral and political turmoil spring up, they go unnoticed, because the current swamp is the most favorable for the rulers and the groups that support them.
