Bernaras Ivanovas

Doctor Bernaras Ivanovas was born on October 13, 1975, in Kaunas. In 1993, he graduated from Kaunas “Varpas” gymnasium and studied history in the Humanitarian Sciences faculty at Vytautas Magnum University. In 1997, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in History and in 1999 – a Master’s degree. In the same year, Bernaras Ivanovas entered the Humanitarian Sciences’ graduate school at Vytautas Magnum University and the Lithuanian Institute of History. On November 24, 2003, he successfully graduated from the University and subsequently defended his thesis for a Doctorate of Humanitarian Sciences on the subject of Tautinių mažumų įvaizdžiai Lietuvoje XX a. 4-ame dešimtmetyje: tautininkų ideologinės-politinės srovės pažiūros (The images of national minorities in Lithuania in the 4th decade of XX c.: the creeds of the nationalists’ ideological-political stream).

Currently, Bernaras Ivanovas is a lecturer in the Institute of Political Science and Diplomacy at Vytautas Magnum University. The subjects he lectures are: the problem of the Holocaust, the fundamentals of International Relations, the fundamentals of State law, and the political problems of post-communist societies.

In 2005, the publishing house “Versus aureus” published the study of Barnaras Ivanovas, Tautiškumo beieškant Antano Smetonos Lietuvoje (In the quest of nationality in Lithuania of Antanas Smetona).
