Elke Pohl was born in 1946 in Berlin. After graduating from high school and journalism studies, she started her career at the Berlin daily newspaper Junge Welt (Young world) and as the local editor at the city of Bernau’s newspaper Markischen Allgemeinen Zeitung. For several years, she worked as a qualified editor at the Berlin publishing house Die Wirtschaft, (Economics).

In 1990, after having her third baby, E. Pohl found herself unemployed. At that time, her first book of advice, Ruckkehr in den Beruf (Return to profession) was published. In 1992, she started anew in the writing business in Berlin. She engaged in marketing and press, and in 1999, she exchanged the above-mentioned activity for professional independence.

Her main professional interests: the profession and career, consumers’ rights and financial security. She has published 25 books of advice in various known publishing houses. E. Pohl constantly works at the newspapers for institutions of higher educational, at specialized newspapers and Internet portals.

In 2006, the publishing house “Versus aureus” published Elke Pohl’s book of advice Būkime neprilygstami (Let’s be unique).
