Docent Dr Eugenijus Jovaiša – a well-known Lithuanian archaeologist – graduated from the History faculty at Vilnius University in 1973. E. Jovaiša is one of the founders of the Fund Supporting the Royal Palace of Lithuania. It was E. Jovaiša who rallied historians for the work that resulted in a textbook of Lithuanian history that is not only read, but also seen and heard.
The former Dean in the History faculty at Vilnius Pedagogical University currently lectures on Baltic prehistory. He also heads the summer practices of archaeology and regional studies and is the head of the Baltic Prehistoric Studies Department at Vilnius Pedagogical University. E. Jovaiša is the chairman of the editorial staff of the publication “History”. He is an expert on humanitarian sciences for the Lithuanian National Fund of Science and Studies and an expert for the Science Council of Lithuania. He is also a member of the National Commission for Monument Protection.
Docent Dr E. Jovaiša participated in preparing the publishing house “Versus aureus” in publishing the textbooks: Lietuva ir pasaulis: Datos ir įvykiai) (Lithuania and the world: Dates and events, 2003), Visuotinės istorijos konspektai (An abstract of general history, 2003).
