Lithuanian philosopher, essayist and cultural critic Leonidas Donskis was born in Klaipėda in 1962.
He is a professor for Vytautas Magnum University and head of the Department of Philosophy (Kaunas), and a Docent of Helsinki University (Finland). Also, he is a Doctor of Humanitarian Sciences (Vilnius University, 1990) and a Doctor of Social Sciences (Helsinki University, 1999). For seven years, he worked as a researcher at universities and research centres in the USA, Great Britain, Sweden, Finland, Estonia and Hungary. L. Donskis has published five books in the Lithuanian and three books in English. He edits the book series in Baltic Studio’s Academy’s publishing arm, Rodopi, B. V. (Holland). Also, he is the author and host of the Lithuanian cultural and political TV show, Be pykčio (Without anger).
