Doctor of humanitarian sciences Romas Juzefovičius was born in 1954. He is a senior research fellow for the division of science, philosophy and history at the Institute of Culture, Philosophy and Art and a docent in the History faculty of Vilnius Pedagogical University.
In 1990, he defended his thesis for a Doctorate of history on the theme, the institutionalisation of Lithuanian science from 1945 to 1965.
The main area of his scientific interests: Lithuanian science history and sociology of the 20th century. He participates in the research of the formation of Lithuanian scientific associations and organizations and the expression of their ideas in 20th century society. He also participates in the activities of the associations’ science historians from Lithuania and the Baltic countries. The results of these works are partly published in the collective monographs Globalizacija: taikos kultūra, žinių visuomenė (Globalisation: peace culture, news society), Aukštųjų technologijų visuomenė: humanitarinės interpretacijos (The society of high technologies: humanitarian interpretations) and also in articles and reports in Lithuanian and international conferences. Together with a co-author, R. Juzefovičius compiled a series for a scientific informational publication Užsienio lituanistika (Foreign Lithuanistics) and a thematic set of articles Visuotinė istorija Lietuvos kultūroje: tyrimai ir problemos (General history of Lithuanian culture: research and problems).
In 2004, the publishing house “Versus aureus” published Dr. Romas Juzefovičius’ Visuotinė istorija Lietuvos kultūroje: tyrimai ir problemos (General history of Lithuanian culture: research and problems).
